Church-Based Team: Assembly Required

Churches play an essential role in completing the Great Commission given to us by the Lord Jesus (Matthew 28:19).

But how can churches take advantage of the strategic opportunities facing us today in missions? There are 1.8 billion Muslims in the world, and over 1,000 Muslim people groups have no one reaching them with the Gospel.

Perhaps the most pressing task in missions involves equipping and sending more laborers—men and women from your own congregations—to reach Muslims with the Good News.

Your church can send new field workers. But have you considered sending a whole team?

But if you and your church is dreaming of making an even bigger impact, Frontiers has the tools, resources, and staff to help you do so.

Introducing Church-Based Teams (CBT). Our dedicated CBT staff walk you through the process of developing your global vision, training your workers, and sending your team. In our experience of helping dozens of churches send successful teams, we’ve developed a process that will make sending a team feel like just the thing God designed your church to do.

But church-based teams never come in tidy boxes. They’re a bit messy, and no two are exactly alike. Yet some components are essential for church-based teams to thrive.

If we created a kit for assembling a whole team of people from your church to serve in the Muslim world, what would it include?

Essential Pieces:
These are the team members and leaders, plus any children.

Tools: The tools used to shape the team are people from two sides of one toolbox—the sending church and Frontiers. Both are indispensable and work in close partnership to send a healthy team.

Nuts and Bolts: Frontiers provides a comprehensive array of training opportunities to equip your team, help them work well together, and keep them focused on the task of reaching Muslims with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

The Assembler: Every piece of DIY furniture needs someone to assemble it. Even if you’ve got the best people going, finest leaders and senders, and the most amazing training events, a team only comes together with God as the master builder. Our churches and teams are entirely dependent on His direction.

Finished product: It won’t be perfect. But by God’s grace, your church can send a whole team to bring the light of Jesus Christ to those living in darkness without hope.
