Seven years ago, Eric and his family launched into a new adventure with Frontiers. They left their home in America and joined a team in a region with high concentrations of Muslim people groups that have no one reaching them with the Gospel. Guiding this team is a vision to make Christ’s message available to Muslims, invite them to follow Jesus, and witness the birth of movements of disciples who make disciples and churches that plant churches.
Today, that vision is coming to life.
Only a few years ago, their team counted fifty Muslims studying God’s Word in eight small groups in their region. The next year, the numbers more than doubled. The following year saw a twofold increase, in addition to the baptisms of more than 150 new believers.
Now the team reports that over 1,300 Muslim-background men and women are studying the Bible, and nearly one thousand new believers have been baptized!
“The multiplication, “is starting to get out of hand,” Eric recently shared.
Praise the Lord of the harvest! Frontiers teams are witnessing unprecedented fruitfulness for the Kingdom as Muslims respond to the Gospel and embrace Jesus Christ.
The laborers, however, are too few.
A field worker in South Asia says,
the work here is both exciting and heartbreaking… exciting because the fields are eye-blindingly white unto the harvest, and heartbreaking because there are so few workers multiplying God’s Kingdom. The door is wide open, but without more workers, we, the church, are missing our moment.
At Frontiers, we’re eager to send new teams into fields ready for harvest. But we are constrained by the numbers of men and women who want to go and bring the Gospel into Muslim communities.
Jesus Christ teaches us how to respond to this challenge:
And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” (Luke 10:2, emphasis added)
Please join us in praying earnestly for God to raise up new workers for His harvest.
- Praise God for unprecedented responsiveness to the Gospel in the Muslim world.
- Pray that record numbers of men and women would say yes to God’s call to reach Muslims with the Gospel.
- Ask for new, creative, Spirit-led ways to engage Jesus’ followers with God’s heart for Muslims.
- Pray that more churches would respond to the call to love Muslims and bring the Good News to the least-reached places of the world.
- Ask God to help current workers overcome obstacles to staying on the field, such as denied visas, security concerns, health problems, and conflict.
