Prayer for the Arab Gulf

TheArabGulf

The Arab Gulf—a region consisting of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates—is where Islam was originally founded.

Today, 32 million Muslims live in the Arab Gulf. Throughout the entire region, there is still no known church or fellowship of local Muslim-background believers.

And yet the Gulf is full of unique opportunities for Christian professionals.

Since the oil boom of the mid-twentieth century, daily life in the Arab Gulf has transformed from the rhythms of desert nomadism and pearl diving to opulent lifestyles marked by the pursuit of wealth. Yet amidst this material abundance, Muslim Gulf Arabs are in great need of the Gospel.

International corporations are flooding into the Arab Gulf, which has two of the world’s top twenty economies. These businesses bring opportunities for believers who have professional degrees and technical skills to share the Gospel with unengaged Muslim people groups who are otherwise inaccessible.

Please join us in praying

  • Pray for God to send more cross-cultural workers with professional skills who are unafraid to live in spiritually restricted places.
  • Pray for doctors, educators, and skilled professionals to help bring the life-giving waters of the Gospel to this spiritually dry land.
  • Ask God to break through the pervasive spiritual oppression and strongholds.
  • Pray that amidst great spiritual poverty, Muslim Gulf Arabs would discover that their seeming abundance is merely dry desert sand.
  • Pray for efforts to use social media to reach Gulf Arabs with the Gospel.
