Saleem and his friends Noor and Haitham are local believers from a predominantly Muslim country. When Jacob and his teammates first met them several weeks ago, the three men shared that God had given them a vision to spread the Gospel throughout their region.
“They were on fire with passion,” Jacob says. “On fire for the King, and on fire for His kingdom.”
But Saleem, Noor, and Haitham were lacking one thing: they didn’t know how to turn their passion for Jesus into an effective ministry. They had shared the Good News with many Muslims, but none had chosen to follow Jesus.
So Jacob’s team spent several hours coaching Saleem, Noor, and Haitham to focus on catalyzing movements to Christ. They discussed what it looks like to prayerfully find Muslims who are eager to read God’s Word. And they talked about how fellowships multiply when people follow Jesus’ commands and tell others what they are learning from His teachings.
After sharing these simple principles with the three men, Jacob and his teammates prayed for Saleem, Noor, and Haitham and encouraged them to go and apply everything they learned to reach Muslims with the Gospel.
“We were expectant that God would use their new training, faithful obedience, and witness to draw Muslims into the Kingdom,” says Jacob.
Little did they know just how remarkably God would do it. Just a few days later, Saleem sent a message to Jacob saying,
We’ve been spending ten hours a day meeting with people because there are so many. We meet with them and share Jesus Christ with them. Many, many, many, many, many people have believed and been baptized. Now they’re meeting in fellowships to study the Word.
Join us in praising God for this remarkable and dramatic fruit!
- Ask God to give Saleem, Noor, and Haitham wisdom as they teach men and women to obey the Word.
- Pray for new believers to know the love of Christ and to share His message with their friends and extended family.
- Pray that these first fruits will multiply into a movement to Jesus Christ, resulting in new disciples and churches among Muslims in this region.
