Our Newly Baptized Friends

Several of our Muslim-background friends were recently baptized.

One is a man named Ouday. He and his Muslim wife Karima recently visited us. It had been several weeks since we’d seen them. But as soon as I saw Karima, I was shocked by how different she looked. She was shining from the inside out.

“I am convinced that Jesus Christ is the Savior,” Karima shared. Every day, she and Ouday talked about Jesus, prayed together, and shared the Gospel with their children.

“I’m ready to be baptized,” Karima added, “But how do I really know if Christ lives in me?”

“He’s in you,” I encouraged her, “and it’s clear that He’s changing you. You’re glowing with joy!”

“Yes, I feel so different,” she replied, smiling. “I have such peace!”

Another newly baptized friend is a woman named Aaliya. She’s also married to a Muslim-background believer. Every day the couple reads the Bible and prays together.

On a recent lunch visit, Aaliya started sharing her faith with her devout Muslim neighbors.

“Every day I try to trust God to meet my needs instead of worrying about them,” she told them. “When I give my worries to Jesus, He fills me with peace.”

Some new believers are afraid of being persecuted when they share their faith. And when you’re afraid, it’s easy to believe that you need to stay quiet about Jesus so you aren’t found out.

But not Aaliya. She knows that because of Christ’s work, she has nothing to fear. And so, she keeps sharing His truth with the people around her in wise and natural ways.

  • Praise God for husbands and wives who are entering the Kingdom and being baptized!
  • Pray that new believers would continue sharing the Good News and discovering the peace of Christ.
  • Pray that the children of these believers would grow strong in faith and be equipped as messengers of the Gospel.
  • Pray for Muslim-background believers to be powerful witnesses for Christ among unbelieving spouses and family members.
