“Come over now,” Nabil said as soon Greg answered the phone. “I need to tell you about my dream.”
When Greg arrived at Nabil’s apartment, he observed his friend walking limp-free. Months earlier, Nabil had severely sprained his ankle. Greg, a physical therapist, had been visiting weekly to try to help his friend recover. But after months of therapy and rest, Nabil’s ankle was still so swollen that he could only take a few painful steps across his apartment.
“You’re walking perfectly,” Greg said. “What happened to your ankle?”
“A man in white healed it,” Nabil replied. He explained that the man had appeared to him in a dream and led him to the most beautiful garden he’d ever seen. “Before I entered the garden, the man told me to read the Bible and that it would lead me to life. Then he laid his hands on my ankle, and now it’s healed.”
As the dream continued, he watched the man bless each of Nabil’s children. When he came to Nabil’s youngest son, a toddler with a genetic condition that causes developmental delays, the man said, “I will heal your son. I will make him well.”
When Nabil woke up, his ankle was completely healed. And over the next couple days, his son start to crawl, stand, and speak for the first time—all signs of normal, healthy development.
After listening, Greg said, “God is pouring His mercy and healing on you and your family. And He wants to lead you to life.” When Greg suggested they study the Bible together to find the way to life, Nabil agreed.
The next day when Greg brought him a Bible, Nabil was beaming. “I had another dream last night,” he said. In this dream, the man in white told him that a great sign—a beautiful message—would come to him the next day. “This sign is so great,” the man told Nabil, “that it must be shared with every person all over the world.”
Greg showed Nabil the Bible he’d brought for him. “This is the beautiful message,” Greg said. “And Jesus is the sign. Jesus sets us free from sin to give us new life.”
Nabil took the Book, kissing it gingerly and touching it to his forehead as a sign of respect for God’s Word.
- Pray for Nabil to be drawn to Jesus Christ as he and Greg gather weekly to read and discuss the Bible.
- Pray for Nabil’s entire family to hear and receive the Gospel.
- Praise God for moving among Muslim families—and pray they have the chance to hear and respond to the message of hope in Jesus.
