God is my Provider.
As one who lives on the support of my financial partners, I have to regularly remind myself of this truth. He may use my supporters to meet my financial needs. But they are not my financial redeemers. All I receive comes from God, regardless of His delivery method.
What I love about my supporters is that they are real partners in my ministry. They don’t give just because I have financial needs. They give because they have considered the vision God has given me and want to help fulfill that vision.
Partnering with vision-focused donors is a personal blessing. On those days when I feel defeated, when I wonder if my ministry is making a difference, my supporters are a reminder that it does matter. In fact, they so believe in the significance of the vision that they are sacrificing to invest in its success.
Ryan, a friend from college, gives toward my ministry a couple times a year. Recently he gave above and beyond his normal contribution. When I saw his gift in my ministry account, I immediately called him up to thank him.
“You’re welcome,” Ryan replied. “I haven’t always given regularly, but there’s more to come. And whatever you do, however God leads you, you should know that I’m with you and supporting you.”
Hearing his affirmation melted the lingering remnants of self-reliance and stung my eyes with tears. His confident partnership buoyed my sense of calling and injected me with fresh courage.
The blessing of the team God has raised up around me is much more valuable than the financial provision. We are partners, standing in agreement for a shared vision to extend the boundaries of God’s kingdom in the Muslim world.
What team is God inviting you to join?
