It was still dark when Navida woke to the call to prayer reminding her to rise and pray.

Every morning, her entire life, she’d heard the sound of the mosque’s prayer call. But this time, everything seemed different. As Navida lay there, her heart filled with a sort of joy she’d only recently begun to discover.

Months earlier, Navida had joined several other Muslim women for a weekly Bible study led by Alicia and Jessica, two Frontiers field workers. Navida was immediately drawn to the ways of Jesus. In the Word, she read that God loves and values her. She began telling her family and friends about the Good News she’d found in the Bible.

Laying now in the pre-dawn silence that followed the call to prayer, Navida felt joy pulse through her heart, warming her entire body. She thought about how her image of God used to seem so angry and distant. Islam had taught her to view Him that way.

But right now, all she saw was God’s love. He’d sent her a Savior. And because of Jesus Christ, she felt safe and secure in the presence of the Lord. Navida had no doubt of His love for her.

She knew there was no turning from Jesus. So in the quiet of her room, Navida turned her hands upward and responded to God’s call to follow Christ with her whole heart.

Since then, Navida has been growing in her understanding of God’s love and power. She shares the Gospel every day and prays for people in Jesus’ name.

“Navida’s name actually means good news in the local language,” says long-term worker Alicia. “What a beautifully prophetic name. God knew her long before she embraced Jesus.”

Because of Navida’s witness, more Muslim women are discovering the message of Christ. Alicia and Jessica are coaching her to lead Bible studies. Already, Navida has a group of Muslim women that gathers one afternoon a week to read the Word together.

• Pray that as Navida shares the Good News, many more Muslims will embrace Him as their Lord and Savior.
