The Partner Impact team serves Frontiers’ donors by helping them give to field workers and to the Mission Fund.
But what truly defines this team is their dedication to prayer. Team members Kathy and Jennifer recently shared about the various ways they seek to bless donors.
What’s the most fulfilling part of your ministry?
Jennifer: What I love is that I can be the connection between donors and field workers. I get to serve them both at the same time by helping donors give to their workers. It’s a huge blessing to be a connection in the process. I love it!
Kathy: Very well said, Jenn! Well, I love praying for our workers and our donors. I would say that’s the most fulfilling part for me.
Talk about why your team organizes events for our whole office to pray for donors.
Kathy: I love getting the entire office involved. It’s really a blessing to tell donors over the phone that we pray once a month for their specific requests and to ask them if they have anything we can pray for. Oftentimes they’re really touched by that.
Jennifer: Almost every morning, the Partner Impact team prays together, so donors are getting a lot of prayer—from us and from the entire office. I don’t think they’re aware of that. Someone is praying for them all the time. And when we ask for their prayer requests, we want them to know that they’re part of the body. Workers can’t serve on the field without their support. We’re all working together, but our work wouldn’t happen without our donors. Their role is so valuable!
Describe a meaningful conversation you’ve had with a donor.
Jennifer: A story that stands out is for me is when I called a man to update his credit card because it had expired. When he answered, he was in the hospital with his wife, but he wanted to stay on the phone with me anyway. He updated his card, then he told me about his wife’s brain surgery. What he shared brought me to tears, and I prayed with him on the phone. You could tell that it was a God moment that I called him when I did, because he was at the end of his rope. A few weeks later, I called him back to check on him and his wife. He told me she was in recovery and gave me some new prayer requests. These interactions built a bit of relationship at a time when he really needed encouragement.
Kathy: Recently a man called to give a gift to the Mission Fund. I thanked him for his gift and asked, “Is there anything we can lift up in prayer for you?” He said, “You know, when I give to ministries, I don’t normally get thanked like that, so that is really nice. And I never get asked if I have any prayer requests, so thank you! That just means so much.” He shared his prayer requests, and then he asked how he could pray for me. And that felt so encouraging.
Jennifer: And that’s how our donors are. Frontiers’ donors are so special. Their hearts are truly involved in the work.
If you had one thing to tell Frontiers’ donors, what would it be?
Kathy: Just how grateful we are for them!
Jennifer: Yes, and that they are extremely special. As they bless their workers, the people they love and care for, they’re blessing us, too. It’s overwhelming to see how generous they are and how much they sacrifice. We want them to know they are loved, appreciated, cared for, and prayed for all the time.
