6 Steps for Praying for Muslims

Great advances of the Gospel are often preceded by great movements of prayer. Join us in praying through these six steps—and help start new movements of faith in the Muslim world.

  1. Praise God for His mercy and faithfulness. Ask Him to fill you with love and compassion for Muslims.
  2. Thank the Lord for drawing Muslim men and women to the throne of Jesus Christ (Revelation 7:9) and for the movements of faith that will one day happen in places that have not yet been reached by the Gospel.
  3. Pray from Scripture on behalf of Muslims. Choose a Psalm, a promise from the Word, or one of the following passages: Ezekiel 11:19-21, Matthew 11:28-30, John 14:6, 2 Corinthians 3:12-17.
  4. Intercede for the Muslim world. Pray for:
    • More laborers to reach Muslim people groups with no access to the Gospel (Luke 10:2)
    • Movements of faith in Christ to grow and multiply
    • Muslims to discover the Father who forgives sin and enables us to forgive others (Matthew 6:14)
    • The veil covering hearts to be lifted (2 Corinthians 3:15-16) so that Muslims would see their need for the Savior
    • Muslims to discover and embrace Christ’s perfect love that casts out every fear (1 John 4:18)
  5. Listen to the Lord for anything else He might have you pray for.
  6. Thank God for hearing and responding, and be encouraged that your prayer has “great power as it is working” (James 5:16b).

Muslims desperately need to know the love of Christ.
