A Harvest Amidst Persecution

Ibrahim is a Muslim-background follower of Jesus being mentored by Nathan, a Frontiers team leader.

Tragically, Ibrahim’s close friend and ministry partner, Samir, was abducted and killed for his faith in Christ. Three other believers close to Samir were also abducted.

Understandably, Ibrahim has been struggling with heartache and confusion.

“‘A SERVANT IS NOT GREATER THAN HIS MASTER.’ IF THEY PERSECUTED ME, THEY WILL ALSO PERSECUTE YOU.” (JOHN 15:21B)

But through it all, the Lord is showing His wondrous works and mercy toward Ibrahim’s people.

Despite persecution and suffering, over 90 groups of men and women have begun meeting to study God’s Word. Under Ibrahim’s guidance and with Nathan’s support, many have become followers of Christ as they discover the true path to peace.

These Bible studies have spread to several other cities, and 60 new leaders have been trained to lead the groups.

There are more stories like these. In recent years, Frontiers teams have seen more fruit among Muslim people groups than in the past several centuries combined.

We are convinced that this is just the beginning.

  • Pray for these new leaders to bear lasting fruit and for new fellowships to keep growing.
  • Ask the Lord to strengthen Muslim background believers by the Spirit of truth (John 15:26) and help them stand firm in Christ as they face persecution.
  • Pray for more workers to reach Muslims who still have no access to the Gospel.

Jeremiah’s call to missions meant not only planting churches among Muslims—but also depending on the Lord to sustain him through suffering and persecution.
