The Caucasus is a small mountainous region with over one hundred unique and indigenous languages.

Stretching between the Black and Caspian seas, the Caucasus includes the countries of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia—as well as the southernmost parts of the Russian Federation.

It is one of the most ethnically diverse regions in the world. So rich is the Caucasus’ linguistic heritage that the 10th-century Arab historian, Abd al-Aziz, described it as the “mountain of languages.”

The Caucasus is also home to one of the world’s highest concentrations of unengaged Muslim people groups. Many of these groups are so obscure that they remain relatively unknown to most churches and sending agencies.

Few field workers are currently serving in this highly underserved region of the Muslim world. The countries of the Caucasus are in great need of new workers to bring the light of the Gospel to the unengaged people groups.

• Ask God to send workers who will persevere in mastering complex languages to reach unengaged Muslim people groups living in remote areas of the Caucasus.
