Aren’t you afraid?
If God calls you to the difficult, uncomfortable, or even dangerous places…
Wouldn’t you be afraid?
“We think it’s a miracle that we get to be here,” says Justin, a veteran Frontiers team leader working in a politically unstable Muslim country. He and his team are the only Gospel messengers living in their city.
These Frontiers workers are no strangers to insecurity and transition. They have lived through sudden changes in government leadership, dramatic fluctuations in the economy, coups and wars, and threats to their visa status.
“We know that being here opens the doors for more workers to come,” Justin says. Frontiers is recruiting, training, and sending new field workers to go and join Justin’s team as they labor for the Kingdom. Sharing Jesus Christ with Muslim people groups who are least reached by the Gospel means sending forth new teams to places where Christ’s followers have yet to go.
But, is it safe?
Natalie, a single field worker preparing to serve on a team in the Middle East, responds to her supporters when they ask, “Aren’t you afraid?”
“Yes! I’m afraid,” she responds. “I’m afraid of missing out!” Natalie continues,
God is doing incredible things in the face of tragedy across the Muslim world. The Lord is drawing men and women to Himself! More Muslims than in any other time in history are turning to Jesus Christ… Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?!
Whether physical danger looks like tornadoes and crazy drivers in the United States, or the misplaced zeal of persecution or terrorism, we all face a decision: will we choose fear or will we choose to look at the bigger story of what God is doing among the nations?
Just like Natalie and Justin, may we choose to fix our eyes on the bigger story God is unfolding in Muslim communities.
